Time Management

A lot of us think that managing our time means filling our day with activities, but it is about feeling good and using our time with purpose. It's about feeling in control of our day and not feeling stressed and worried about all the tasks on our to-do list. Managing our time means creating time in our schedule and in our life for the people and activities that matter the most to us.

Here are 3 Simple Time management-Tips!

1. Write down what needs to be done

Write down all the tasks that must done for that day when you wake up or what has to be done for tomorrow before you go to sleep. That way you won't forget anything important. Lot of people say it's easy to remember few tasks in your head, but the idea of writing it down has more to it than just helping you remember things. When you write down the tasks, you see it visually and understand how much or little you are doing for the day. If you have 10 or more things to do, you might be doing perfect or have too much tasks to complete that day. On the other hand, if you have only 2 tasks to complete then you can ask yourself if you are getting the most of out of your day. If you don't then write down things you can do for that day such as checking out the new festival happening in town, meeting up with your friend, working out, writing down your career goals and updating your resume e.t.c

2. Save Time with Technology

We live in a world that revolves around technology and we can integrate the use of technology to our daily life in many different ways. Use your phone, computer or your tablet calendar and add tasks and events. If you want an organized calendar then download an app that suits your lifestyle the most. If you are an old soul like me, use your planner notebook. I use my planner also as a diary writing down what I did that day at the end of the day and ofcourse the tasks and appointments for the day are written down prior.

3. Have one main calendar/planner that you use

Most people have 2 or more calendars/planners that they use. They have calendars/planners for work, school, personal and etc. It is good idea to differentiate them, but it is even better if you have them all together in one schedule. Why? Most of the times we get caught up with our activities and forget about one or the other. It is convenient and smart if you have one main calendar. Not only you will plan your day better but also complete your personal and work to-do list. Sometimes you schedule a movie date with your family without knowing that you have work that day simply because you looked at your family calendar instead of your work calendar. You can differentiate and categorize your tasks and appointments by highlighting them with different colours.

Most importantly, make sure you do what needs to be done for the day and also use your time wisely.
We can never get back the time we lost!
