Rustic wedding at the UBC Boathouse

Hello my lovely readers!

I recently decorated a wedding at the UBC Boathouse. It is one of my favourite wedding venues.

The glass feature of building is great especially if you are eco-conscious. You can have your wedding ceremony outside, but the only concern would be the occasional airplanes passing by because the venue is close to the airport. If you prefer your ceremony inside, there is natural light and a beautiful backdrop. Because the venue overlooks the Fraser River, it has beautiful scenery that is perfect for the photo session after the ceremony. I recommend couples taking as much advantages as possible when you select a venue that is surrounded by the beautiful nature.

The couple chose their venue to be indoor because it is better to be safe than sorry when it comes to having a wedding in May in Vancouver. It was a rustic themed wedding and the decor was simple, but classy and elegant.

Rustic theme is definitely one of the trending wedding themes of this year. A great way to make an indoor wedding rustic is to bring nature indoors. Have flowers and trees as part of the decor, but not the main focus. The decor should complement the natural beauty of the venue. The colours and patterns should also give the rustic feeling. You can always make the decor more chic and glamorous by adding little bit of crystals and candles, but more importantly reflect your personalities.
